Detailed instructions for fitting Mazda RX8 seats needed

Hi all, I’ve got a n rx8 seat mounted ready to go, lumbar & height work fine but can’t get power to the motor for the slide function. What wires are for what from the seat please? All references I’ve found don’t have the sliding/rail motion via a motor. Presume it must be more than one live...

oh right, I presumed it was a case of the switch creating contacts to a circuit. So one turn to create a contact, and moving it forward, or pulling back as it is for full beam, moved it on to another contact. I’ll have to try it then.

would this not work the other way too? So full beam on when low beam is on?

Yeah please, it’d be good to compare them and see if it can be done that way. Thanks very much

I dont have that access. But I’ll try find it. Maybe even try get a pic of the old loom plug. Or if anyone has a facelift in bits they want to photograph the wiring to the stalk and plug even better?

yes, this was mentioned too. And may well be the route I go. It’s just identifying which pin needs changing. Don’t have that info yet. I’ll look for a wiring diagram that stems from the stalk. I may well have one. Some had said on earlier posts that the stalk may be the difference as the wiring...

Thankyou, it’s came out really well. No gaps.

Ok so I found some bits on here and some bits elsewhere. Figured I’d feedback on how I did it and issues I ran into. Bumpers- they don’t just bolt on. The front needs the metal support from behind it off the donor facelift too. You also need the tow eye for the front as it’s shaped...

yes, I’ve noted that both lights stay on while holding the lever back. I’ll change the switch gear as first port of call. And like u say, connect to two pins if needs be to stop dip disengaging. many thanks gents. mill let u all know when I’ve done it in a few weeks.

Ok, that’s a fair comment and point. A separate pull from the batt would be more efficient via a relay. Point well made. Tbh, I’m contemplating just switching the switch gear over and seeing if that does do the job. It’s on the donor vehicle I have access too. So available. thanks again lads

Yeah, I got the use of the diode, that’s why I was so thrown with talks of a relay as well as a diode. I was over complicating it then in my head. Thinking the normal one must have to go or have another elsewhere as well etc, but it seems it’s just a simple bridge with the diode in. Shud be...

will face lift front end fit pre face lift models

I did, and thanked you for it, it will be off missive help. But that’s what stumped me. It shows a simple diode between the main and dipped beam. In favour of sending the current from the high to dipped. But the only relay on it was the stock one. Or at least I presume it’s the stock one. But...

Ok, my bad. So what I’m saying is. As I’m Not quite sure where to add the extra relay too, or what relay to add. That if I simply split the power from the FL1 loom high and low, to the two separate bulbs on the facelift lights that it’s work but as the FL1 did. Separately? until I can find out...
