Could be they have put the wrong reverse switch in but have to agree bothe the rear wiper and the HDC are linked to the reverse switch

Agree 100% had the same thing last year on my td4 if you search flee bay for "freelander doorhandle springs" you will find they are about £7.50. Word of warning be quite gentle as you take the handle off it's a bit fragile.

I could be wrong but I think Boeing land 747s on remoulds and recuts. I know lots of people who know someone that has had problems with remould tyres but I dont know of anyone who had a problem with them, and I am going back to the mid 70s

Is the smoke predominently blue or white? I belive, (and wait to be corrected) that blue smoke from a diesel engine is burned engine oil which could (as you thought) be valve stem oil seals. I belive that white smoke is often unburned fuel getting into the exhaust.

I would expect this to be an elecrtickery fault and unlikely to be related to actual engine temp, since it flicks over to max and then back to normal after 20 seconds (of being turned off).
Would it be worth checking how hot the heater is compared to normal?

Mine has the part number XQE000110pma never thought to peel off the alpine sticker to look what was under it.If you take yours out you should be able to see the sticker

I had the same problem with mine when I used one of the DIY refill cans. What I had to do was give the refill can a good shake when the gas stopped flowing, then it would go again for a short time then shake again untill it was up to pressure.

Had the same problem last week turned out to be master cylinder, but first remove air filter and check that the "c" clip is still fitted to the slave cylinder and that the bracket is not bent or broken, you could get someone to press the clutch while you look what is going on if you search this...
