Hi, I have similar problem in that tailgate door will not open. The window works fine. You say that you used to needles to get it open. could you please explain how this is done. I have already managed to get the interior panel prised open enough to get to the latch solenoid. Many thanks.

Hi, I have Freelander 1 2004. Tailgate is shut and won't open. Rear window drops required amount when handle is operated but door latch does not release. I can hear one microswitch in handle click but nothing for second microswitch for latch. Rear window operates fully with interior switch but...
