Thanks, a thermostat? most probably you are correct, the information on the heating issue fix is on file somewhere. I see on YT, the thermostat replacement video is longer than the one which explained how to do a timing belt/water pump change on my last vehicle.:)

Hmm, there's no option for no faults so far :). Currently at 198,000km, owner since March 2021, just has an inherited fault with a heating system temp sensor, which effects the temp gauge to only reach 1/4 ways and just about reaches warm temperature iin the cabin. The sensor itself is cheap...

The two cuts I made are not visible unless you crane your neck and use a torch light, not too shabby for a 15 year old vehicle :) In any case should there be a slip of a blade, a brief touch up would cover it up. The design of this console is impractical.

Today I finished a new head unit install. My first decision was to bypass steps 1-10 by not taking out the whole console. These tires pictured in the OP look very similar, almost identical, but let's say for the sake of argument there were 2 good and 2 worn (4mm thread diff), how could putting the better tires on the rear (as advised earlier) be more VCU friendly? Would it not be the same strain for the VCU as...

You definitely have a point with the new tyres. I've not the comparison experience with this vehicle. However road noise in general in this vehicle from the rear does compare unfavorably to other 4wds with similar tyres. I see there is nothing to dampen the vibrations on the floor of the rear...
