seems like the tensioner arm mounted on the timing cover, not the pulley. Does that make sense?

Hi all. My 2.5 has developed a really high pitched squeal from the aux belt tensioner. There seems to be play in the pivot but i don't want to take it apart and have it fall to bits in my hand! Is there a bearing in there? What is the usual cause? Thanks in advance for the help! D

All, 1998 P38 2.5DT. Newish comprosser, air spring good. A few day ago the rear, particularly the left rear i think started dropping very fast, like seconds when the engine is turned off. Today the "35mph" warning appeared, presume due to overheahed compressor. Reset all faults, loads of them...
