Thanks for all the advice. Turns out to have been a sticky fuel pump. Gave the top on tank a good belt and she spring to life on the first turn. Don't think problems solved as was the same this morning, but the belt worked again. Looks like a new pumps needed. Not too impressed at the prices...

Well had my Freelander for 3 years now, with not a spot of trouble. Came out from work last night and she won't start. Engine just keeps turning over, where as before it would crank about once and spring into life. She got fuel (in the tank!) but shows no signs of firing........ Need...

There is a kit available that doesn't require drilling your grill or wing...... Can't seem to lay my hands on the link, but basically they clipped on with clips that fitted to the top of the headlight. Looked much neater.......in my opinion.

Personally, I left mine out........ Airflow is soooooooo much better and no misting up any more.

Had the same thing on an old Ford. Turned out to be the wheel bearing on its way out, changed that and it was perfect after that. Just a thought!

Rear passenger window has packed in........ Pulled the panel off and tested at the motor.......motor dead, plenty of juice. Now I've been reading all the posts about changing the mech, but they all seem to be about windows being stuck open or half open. Here's the problem......mines stuck in...

Matey, I've got a tape deck and the alpine changer if your interested? Came out of my 2003 model, you'd need the cable that goes between as I've left it in place.

Cheers Edge, that sounds like a plan......... Do I need to take the sump guard off, or can I access via the rear of it? Just need to wait for it to stop bloody raining....:doh:

I think the title says it all!! My freelanders got about 56000 on the clock, I haven't had it that long and I was just wondering what the gearbox should feel like.... On mine, gear selection is OK.....when you known where to go. I only have the occassional mishap. But the selection doesn't...

Just a quick one, Is the switch used on the power fold mirrors backlite? Can't make my mind up whether is should or shouldn't be, don't ever recall it being lite or has it stopped working......I don't know I'm confused.

So, if I'm reading it right, only the td4 and v6 had updated?? Don't laugh, mines 2003 1.8 would that be updated?
