Not had the chance to take any other pictures yet. Other side of that leg seems ok. Got a welder looking at it next week to see what he can do . Rest of the chassis looks OK. It's only had 2 or 3 small welds over the period I have had it.

Yes the plan is to have a good look at the rest of the chassis and bulkhead to see if it's worth it. Was initially just looking for reccomendations for anyone who has done the 1/2 chassis and recommendations. Don't think I would spend the money on a full chassis replacement. 😳

Never been off the road. I was under it couple of months ago replacing the watts linkage and never saw it. Not sure how much surface rust was maybe knocked off by the tester to reveal it, but it was a bit of a shock when I saw it.

I had a similar problem a few years ago and land rover guy I know replaced the injector seals. He said he knew this having had issues where he had done all the other stuff mentioned here with no joy. Sorted the problem and a fairly cheap repair.
