Congratulations! I’m going to be ‘that’ person, you actually have a Ninety, not a Defender.

Well I gave up trying to find what was leaking and fired the parts cannon at it, new filler neck, new foam gasket, new clamps on fuel filler pipe and breather pipe, new fuel filler pipe, all joints coted in hylomar blue before assembling. Only...

I would remove the stuck bolt and get a wire wheel on it before decideing it is BER. you may find a lot of the mess is the bolt and washer rather than the bracket. But if it is the YRM panel is likly to be what you want and you then need to...

I think this is a key here as well. I had a friend with one fitted and I hated it. But my daily drive for the last 18 years has been an stock lt77 so th normal gear change is what I am used to, what expect a land rover to feel like, and what I...

What part of America are you in Chris ? Do you know where the diff lock lever is on the LT230 (transfer box) ? Have you removed the lever and used a spanner to turn it on and off ? Are the wires connected to the diff lock switch (green and...

As you have observed galv does not prevent it slows down. Galv should also be painted in my opinion rather than left bare for the chassis and the bulkhead. to give extra protection. If you want the bare galv look you can get clear oils that will...

The corner panels are just surface rust from the pictures and do not need replacement. Just give them a good rub down, treat with rust converter, and then prime and paint. The b pillar repair is detailed in the yrm workshop Section along with...

Little update, I finally got around to looking into parts for this properly. Was cheaper to order the parts individually on ebay than get one ready made up if people are interested this is what I have bought: LINK1, LINK2, LINK3, LINK4, total...

dag019 replied to the thread Immobiliser reset.
Don't take this the wrong way but a new member asking how to bypass the immobiliser is not the way to get a huge response from people here and will be viewed with caution and suspicion. Maybe a little more information about the vehicle and how...

Put up some pictures of the areas you describe, Everyone likes [pictures, but will help us see what you are talking about. For a 300tdi the air filter should be on the left as you face the engine but if the engine is sitting further back it may...

I am going to come out with the opposite view to the above. I have a 1.2 fitted to mine and it is great. However I will caveat that with a couple of things. I live in the midlands, not the Welsh or Scottish mountains, I have an early LT77 from a...

Yes, the actual sill itself which bolts between the tub and the bulkhead is a piece of steel c-channel. you can get galvanised replacements (LINK). This is the part that the floor panel and seat box bolts along the threshold. It is then usually...

In a similar line to @300bhp/ton some more information about your vehicle (engine, gearbox's, body type etc) and some pictures (everyone likes pictures) might help with recommendations. If it is as it left the factory the advice is very different...

dag019 replied to the thread Land rover 110 1984 upgrades.
If the vehicle is in top mechanical order then in terms of upgrades I would start with security. Make sure you have a good steering lock, and good pedal/clutch lock. You can fit window grills but I didn't bother as unless you fit them to all...

All of the upper body panels other than the bulkhead (firewall, part the dash/pedals mounts to) is aluminium. the bulkhead and chassis are steel and will rust. The bubbling is likely to be oxidisation which creates white powder and does...

It depends what sort of overlanding you plan on doing, where you plan on going, and if you are going to use the vehicle for anything else. What you need for heading to the extreme north is very different to heading down through Africa. If you...

If that is the case why are so many of them so easily stolen? Local land rover specialist said current JLR are one of the easiest cars available to steal and recommended the extra precautions hence it falling to me to find out more.

I dont think you will find Land Rover made wheels to fit what you are looking for. The steel options were either the standard or Hd version. And the alloys were not for “commercial” use. Special vehicles used modular wheels for the power company...
