i did a reapir kit on mine and its been fine(3000+ miles so far) i would say if you have large hands it is a pig of a job, my hands and arms looked like freddie kruger had been at me when i had finished.

i have just bought a 96 v8 on gas that has been sat in a field for 2 years and im gonna revive it to poss replace my td5 in the future. it wont run atm but i have found that the fuel pipes are fubar(rotten and leaking), without buying the genuine replacement pipes for £200, would it be possible...

no it didnt, but ive slowly been replacing bits to get it going again, sunlight sensor on the dash has been done as it was faulty, ive now got power to evrey thing but the compessor still wont kick in,i just need to get it pressure tested and regassed to see if it works.

the fan had seized on mine when i got it, i replaced it with a rad cooling fan from a toyota surf my mate was scrapping, works realy well, just needed a few mods to get it to fit.

i have to say mine is the same, ive done the egr blank, KnN pannel filter, decat, no center box and it goes like stink from a stand still and will pull a house down.:):) its touching 200k as well.:eek:

192000 on my 2001 td5 and still pulling strong, just done a 360 mile trip and returning 32mpg, thats with 7 people at 70mph most of the way.

ive only had my td5 about 4 weeks and i decided to take it to a local pay and play day. i was out numbered by pajeros, but i never needed a tow. bush farm 25-08-13 - YouTube bush farm 25-08-13 - YouTube bumper and tow bar took a bit of a beating but i just drove round all day in high range...

i have just got a high mileage 2001 td5(191000), which was standard and did feel a bit wheezy compaired to my navara. so on went a full exhaust with decat and removed center box also fitted a full egr removal kit. the improvement was huge, much better pull and responce and well worth the...

just a quick question, i know that the front bearing in the transfer box has some play and need replacing(possible causing my rumble at around 65mph), my question is can this be done in place or do i have to take the transfer box off. thanks dave

the repair must be as close to the o.e pannel as possible, i.e if its a solid pannel it must be repaired with a seam weld all the way round, you can only spot or stich weld a pannel if it came like that from the factory.
