    Unicorn MUC6979

I'll investigate giving more movement by adjusting the flat bar - I have a mill, so elongating the slots wont be an issue. I think in the long run the internal wear will have to be addressed - be an interesting project I think. I was kind of hoping someone would pop up and say 'Oh yeah, thats...

    Unicorn MUC6979

The rod is actually flat bar with some slots in it - I could indeed elongate the slots to add some more adjustment. I might look at this again, cheers

    Unicorn MUC6979

Ive recently had to adjust the length of the interior mechanism that opens the lock, and now I'm at the full extent of that adjustment. Its just started playing up again (not quite triggering the latch to open). I think that its probably just worn inside, although it could be something else...

    Unicorn MUC6979

Hi. I am in need of a replacement MUC6979 door latch mechanism, RH for my 1987 110. I know these are hard to come by, but perhaps someone has one somewhere? Alternatively, has anyone taken them apart to fix them? Cheers, Jim

    Power steering diagnosis help

Thanks for everyone help - fixed the PAS issue. The pre-made suction pipe to the pump had a crimp missing on the flexible pipe. Addition of a jubilee stopped the air getting sucked in and all it now good. Also, being under the engine allowed me to spot the water running out of one of the...

There are some bubbles coming back into the system. Perhaps that’s the issue.

    Power steering diagnosis help

Hi Brown It only squeaks when I put pressure in the Geering wheel. It deffo seems to be from the box but I’ll get a third ear to do or check. I’d be happy if it was the pump as they’re a lot cheaper than the boxes!

    Power steering diagnosis help

Hi Lynall. I cracked the Bleed nipple on the top of the box and got some good pressure when turning the wheel so I know the pumps pumping. It’s a 12J. The pipes across the front to the pump are both new. When you say the suction pipe do you mean the one coming out the bottom of the reservoir...

    Power steering diagnosis help

Hi Mik Yes the fluid is full, although the level does seem to drop very slowly indicating a leak I guess. There’s deffo some PAS action with the engine running, but not as much as there was. There’s a squeal from the box when I turn the wheel. It’s a 6 bolt box if that’s useful info. Cheers, Jim

    Power steering diagnosis help

Hi all. The power steering on the 110 has gone very stiff, but not being familiar with these, I’m not sure where to look to decide what’s at fault. It worked ok after the rebuild but I hadn’t touched any of it except replace the front hoses. Now it’s very stiff to turn the wheel and gets...

VDO oil pressure sender. Which one?

Hi all. I’ve just fitted some VDO gauges to my 12J 110. The oil pressure gauge has no sender as yet. Few questions relating to this: Where is the best place to fit the sender to the oil system? What thread should/would it have (I’m guessing the 1/8 NPT as I only see metric otherwise?). What...

    Occasional high idle

Hi all. My 110 had been in the road for about 6 months now, and occasionally I get a high idle. Blipping or lifting the throttle pedal doesn’t seem to help. Next junction and it goes back to normal. Any ideas what could be causing this? Stock 12J 1987. Cheers, Jim

    Tracker recommendation

I’m thinking of fitting a tracker/alarm/immobiliser to my 1987 110. Obviously immobilising a simply 2.5NA is very simple but then very easy to defeat. Does anyone have any good ideas in this area? I think a concealed GPS and a loud alarm is what I’m after. Thoughts?

    Bonnet spare mount

That’s what I was thinking, or maybe stiff springs, but none of the diagrams I’ve ever seen show them.

    Bonnet spare mount

Hi. Yes standard steel rims and tyres. This is the best pic I have to hand.
