When I re chassis'ed Noel, I used a Richards chassis (👍👍👍) And replaced all bushes, engine and gearbox mounts , brake pipes, clips/brackets etc with new.

Had to adjust just about every single item. Never, ever fit anything tight. Roof, side frames, tubs, wings bulkheads etc before checking everything lines up. We live and learn 🤔🙄

You can, but from bitter experience, I wouldn't recommend it 😭

I had another look, it's totally my fault. They do with or without mesh. I thought that meant the actual mesh screen. What it actually means is recessed for mesh, or not recessed for mesh. Looks like if I cut of the tabs I can custom fit it 🤔🙄

Bugger. I think I see what I did wrong. I obviously forgot to choose the mesh version 🤯 So, can I just fit it flat?

I'm sure it will all be fixable and you will have fun with your land rover. I wouldn't feel stupid. Your landy works and drives. Some of us (the real stupid ones 🙄) buy total rust buckets and then spend £££££ and still don't have them in a drivable condition after 3 years 🤣

I'm hoping to use the old foam, it seems in fairly good condition 😁 Boss lady saw the dash last night and said, don't bother repairing, buy the new one, stop being tight, it's only £600! Still undecided, I'd quite like to have a go at a repair 🤪

Very interesting. Way beyond my talent level. As a non welder, I wonder if rivets would work? I didn't think the lower dashboard was too rusty, not compared to the chassis, bulkhead and door frames.🤣
