    Engine losing power

I only drive about 5000 miles a year, and ask my mechanic to check everything whenever I take for repair or MOT. I checked the fluids today. Water, steering and brake all are in good levels. I didn't find one for the transmission though. I have a proper look tomorrow in the day light. Thanks for...

    Engine losing power

It was serviced about a year ago. I have not checked any fluid level, or changed the air/oil filter. Sometimes, everything seems to work fine.

    Engine losing power

Hi everyone, I have a 1981(X reg) Freelander 2.5 V6 auto, and has done 72k. Since couple of weeks ago, it has began to lose power specially going uphill. It slows down and sometimes will not move forward at all. On a road with a slight uphill slop, when I push on the acceleration, engine rev...

    Starting problem

I bought a new calcium battery from performancebatteries.co.uk at just under £50, half the price of Halfords own brand, and with free next day delivery. When it arrived, I connected it, and it was wonderful to hear the sound of the engine again. Thank you all for your help and advice. :clap2:

    Starting problem

I have ordered a new battery. It will arrive tomorrow. Lets hope that does the trick. Called Green Flag today, but they said that my cover says that they will come to me if I need assistance at least 1/4 mile from home, otherwise, I have to pay them £86 call out charge, a bit of rip off since...

    Starting problem

Well, after 24 hours of charging the battery, nothing has changed, still the same problem. When starting the ignition, you just here click click, no engine turning, nothing. Checked the wiring from the battery, and I can't see anything loose. To be honest, I know nothing about cars, all I know...

    Starting problem

I have left the battery to charge overnight, never had any problem with it before. The car is parked in silly place on the drive that I can't get any car near it to try to jump start it. I will try to get it towed onto the main road tomorrow, and try to start it with jump leads. Hopefully, it is...

    Starting problem

Hi everyone, I have a automatic X reg Freelander V6, and it has been working great. All of a sudden, it decided not to start today. When trying to start the car, nothing happens, just clicks. I thought it might be the starting motor, but I realised that the windows goes up and down very slowly...

    Central locking problem, please help

Thanks for the advice. Had a look, and the inertia switch was tripped. Pushed it to reset, checked the fuses, they are fine. I guess it is going to be the dreaded visit to the Land Rover dealer now, or can any auto electrician can fix it?

    Central locking problem, please help

Thanks Ming. Had a look, and can see any micro switch on the roof (it is a Free Lander V6 model). The boot door doesn't open at all, not with remote nor with the key manually. Key fob activates the alarm fine, but has no effect on the central locking. Unlocking the driver's door from inside...

    Central locking problem, please help

I own a 2001 FreeLander and have had no problems with it until the other day when the central locking just stopped working altogether. You can only lock the driver’s door manually with the key. Even the boot has stopped working, it doesn't open even with the key. When I press the remote buttons...
