over the christmas period it appears someone has nicked the plastic cover to the wing mirror on the passenger side of my 1999 freelander. although it annoyed me i wasnt over bothered as i thought it would be easy to replace being just a piece of plastic however now i see why someone stole mine...

I have a 1.8 petrol freelander and the exhaust has been blowing for a while but have ignored it however the MOT is now coming up. The hole is in the middle box (roughly in the middle of the vehicle and before the main back box) - is this a catalytic converter ?
the hole is too big to patch up so...

sorry bit of a novice - how do i check the earth or is it just a case of running an extension from another working earth to check if the light comes on ?

my sidelights work fine as does the main beam on my 1999 freelander but normal headlights dont work on the nearside.
i have changed the bulb - but no difference, i have checked with a voltmeter and the nearside is getting the same as the off side which makes me assume that the power is...

just put the old plugs back in and alls well again - all gaps are ok too so can only assume one of the plugs is a duffer - will get myself some NGK tomorrow (thats whats back in as well)

the ones i put in were NLP100290L - are these no good ? i suppose i need to put the old ones back in (which were running fine) to determine whether its the leads or the plugs - looks like thats me in the wheely bin then

as said i couldnt get the leads in the wrong order as they are all separate lengths so one wouldnt reach if i got them wrong
you think i need to measure and adjust the gaps of the plugs ? surely if bought for a landy freelander they shoud be correct ?
could i have knackered a lead just...

Ok still a newbie to landrovers and mechanics but i am enjoying it ! Today i changed the spark plugs on my 1.8 freelander as supplied by britparts as part of a service kit (oil air etc) and since then it sounds rough and is missing. I have checked that each of the HT leads is pressed securely...
