That's very encouraging:( i'm a believer in that if it's maintained well it should be pretty reliable and as this new purchase has been looked after it has a fighting chance i will be maintaining the best i can with no skimping ;)

Hi All, Well i finally did it after months of looking i bought a very tidy 2000 DHSE its high mileage 190k but has had loads spent on it with receipts ie skimmed head pressure tested new head bolts water pump new fip starter motor oil pump water pump thermostat coolant flush re built air...

Perhaps Vaseline on every connector possible may help with the corrosion issues? i have also had many Toyota Colorado's with no electrical issues but as whats been said there not a Rangie:(

Dantak, You misunderstood my meaning i think ie if the eas system has been left in place except the airbags i would probably try to re fit new air bags but if its all been ripped out it would be a major job refitting everything i definitely don't want to ruin the car if as you say the a/c by...

I appreciate your comments but i like uncomplicated there are some owners with a/c removed and running a/c fans for cooling with no problems i do like eas but not the extra worry that goes with it if it already has springs that's fine with me and lets face it there are lots out there running...

Hi All, Thanks again for all the helpful replies so an update it's taken all this hivering and hovering to finally make my mind up and so tomorrow i am going to view the 2000 P38 DSE automatic i was initially going to see but didn't i think the L322 is a bit rich for my blood at the moment and...

:D It hasn't happened yet i still may plump for a P38 looking at the L322 repair bills makes my eyes water:eek:

Thank you for all the P38 advice its really appreciated but i have decided to go for an L322 4.4tdv8 not that there is anything wrong with a P38 but think its something i need to get out my system and i have had P38s but never an L322 yes i may regret it but until i try it i will never know...

Thanks for all the replies but today i'm going to see a P38 thats had a HS 2.8 TGV engine conversion so hopefully all the M51 lump and its associated problems have been eliminated:D
