I sold my 1992 V8i, auto, petrol for £500, had 109K miles, everything worked on it, just needed the floor pan done and some other welding, so either i shot myself in the foot as it has 4 good tyres engine and gearbox was spot on buy selling it so cheap and not asking a bit more for it.

also check, steering damper, panhard and radius arm bushes. if that does not work, check the shock absorbers.

can you not put a rubber paint coating on the floor pan before putting the sound proofing back?

I take it the prop shaft had plenty of play in it then, as my V8 sounds like that, I put it down to a exhaust gasket, will have to have a closer look.

You have a broken wire in the stalk, mine did that whilst driving home at night, side lights work, main beam and flash works. you just need to take the steering wheel off and re solder the connector, cost me a tenner for a new (second hand) one as i did not know the problem at the time.

I got ripped off then, my middle box cost £228, even then, they cocked up.

so the moral of the story is to cut the rotor arm off, lol.

How easy is it to remove the manifold an put new gaskits in? as it looks like is has not been off the vehicle and it is a 1992 model. do the bolts break easy, easy to replace them etc? Why have an easy life when you can have a landy.

Which prop went through the sump, front or back? surely this would be visible on inspection before it happens?

Nope the car is not pinking. the cloud of smoke thing seems quite interesting.

I have a V8 3.5 petrol that has a loud'ish tappit noise on the drivers side block, when the car is under load, ie, going up a hill the noise is very loud and sounds like the manifold is blowing. There is no whites smoke or smoke at all from the exhaust, oil on the dip stick is normal no...

did you take the indicator stalk off the steering column? as I had the problem where a wire broke on the stalk, I lost main beam but indicators were working.

you can get a jemmy in the joints and you can see the play in the bushes, I did the pan hard rod, radius arms and steering damper, still got the wobble, going to do the shocks as they are rusting badly, there is a bit of play in the uj in the steering column as it comes out of the firewall, so...
