Hi guys I'm looking a bit if advice with my 4.6 with LPG kit. The bottom block has cracked, so needs top hat/liner repair or replacement engine. Unfortunately due to redundancy I can't afford to do either. So really I'm wondering, what sort of value would be in the car as it stands, bodywork...

i know its a big job, i did look at doing it myself but thought it was beyond me. what annoys me more about them is i did explain it all to them and they said to leave it in,give them a few days and theyd strip it down and find out if the block was cracked, but i get the same story every few...

That's what I don't understand tho, the coolant was recently flushed out and a full 11 or so litres put in, and no obvious leaks so I know there was enough coolant in it ;s

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me out with collant/overheating issues. Its a p38 4.6 v8 converted to LPG, with overheating issues. If I remove the drain plug from the bottom of the radiator, I'm assuming that should drain all the coolant from the system? When I did that with the header tank...

you should be getting around 220-260 depending on whether round town or motorway driving , and depending how heavy your right foot is :D Im gonna get mine serviced as I'm only getting about 160, which i think is very low Realistically, I reckon on my 4.6, average is around 15-17, though...

Yea, have to keep topping up. not drastic amounts but probably would amount to filling the expansion tank once a week

Just a quick question about the heater matrix. I'm getting the wet carpet on my P38, so I guess the o-rings have gone on the heater matrix so... a) If i'm going as far as replacing the o-rings, is there much extra to replacing the matrix as well? Britpart do the whole thing about £40ish b)...

Sounds about right. And if you do LPG it take about 10% off that, but at 73p a litre it still works out ok. Generally an average 220-240 mile to a 90 litre tank (75 litre usable) at about £50 to fill.
