    Chassis Replacement

Hi all, I noticed in the last couple of weeks a few people on another Land Rover page asking about chassis replacement pieces and the process of getting them on. We undertook this task a couple of days ago and it was much less daunting than thought. If you check out our latest video from about...

    Defender 110 TD5 Rebuild

Hi everyone, A little update.... we took the engine out... not the tow rope... wouldn’t recommend this but we didn’t have a proper bar and chain! It came out pretty well and we are a bit closer to having a stripped chassis to have a good clean up and look around. Once all the harness...

Bulkhead panel replacements or just replace it

Thanks Johnny, This is good advice. We picked up a dirt cheap media blasting gun and some shot for the compressor, I don’t have high hopes for it, but may clear off enough of the grub to give us more of a clue. We can defiantly inspect inside once we cut holes in it too. It is a late TD5...

    Hello from the Bust2Built team

I think, and people with far more knowledge than I have on the P38 can correct me, that the RR has a viscous coupling system rather than dif lock. Also I think they all had traction control to some degree and pretty amazing articulation for a stock suspension setup, which made it pretty decent...

    Hello from the Bust2Built team

The dif lock is on the transfer box. I also have a TD5 D2 which doesn’t have the dif lock, but all the mechanism is there. You just need the linkage from the shifter to get the dif lock working (on the TD5 combo anyway)

Bulkhead panel replacements or just replace it

Good plan, might just put it back on the chassis now the engines out and tak the new panels in place before taking it off to finish the job.

Thank you Turboman, I have just realised I hijacked someone else's thread here. Betty93, I am sorry, still working this out. Hopefully the door chat is of use to you too. Apologies again and many thanks all.

Anyone know where to get good aftermarket doors for 110 TD5?

Hi All, We have done a couple of repair jobs on the doors previously, one was successful and the other doesn't now fit well. Does anyone know any good suppliers of doors? The other option I suppose is to get a set of good used.... Thanks in advance B2B

Thanks guys, we already did replace the bottom of the doors a few years ago. Success with the drivers door, but the passenger one ended up pretty warped (strangely over time, it was fine initially). Doesn't even come close to closing now so used to drive it around with a tow rope holding it...

    Defender 110 TD5 Rebuild

Ahh great, we may have to pick your brains on local specialists then! Thanks for subscribing, that is massively appreciated. The instructions were not as helpful as they could have been, some misprints of bits to use, but the tent seemed like a great alternative to a garage at about a...
