What have you done to your Landie today.

Have had a successful couple of days work, got front spots wired up and working, installed a Mud centre dash thingy with new closk, 12v power supply and CD Radio. Made a start on replacing all the rear lights/indicators until i buggered up me reversing light, so an emergency temp repair has...

'92 Defender Cambelt change now no start!!

Success!! Obviously my first attempt to retime her hadn't been as accurate as i'd thought - the drill bit in the fuel pulley was locking in something, but not the correct orifice, one to the left of the TDC mark. I've put her back together (less the cowling and the fan) for the time being to...

'92 Defender Cambelt change now no start!!

Yes it should read 0.20 - i keep putting decimal points in the wrong place when it comes to re typing them out! 9mm, as it was the best one I could get to fit! I'm just off to have a play with her now, and see how I get on, will report back...

'92 Defender Cambelt change now no start!!

This is one thing it could be - as it would give the same outcome, and the thought has crossed my mind since reading about it earlier however without checking I think its unlikely as i shouldn't have gone near enough to it. (not that im not willing to check just havent been out to the landie...

'92 Defender Cambelt change now no start!!

Hi I have had a look through but have only skimmed over bits of what maybe the answer - Cambelt needed changing, being mega consciencious barred her over, checked there were no issues with the pistons/valves knocking, then checked all valve clearances, so I thought job done, belt changed no...

    Clutch!

That sounds like a worthwhile suggestion - may well be worth a try at the very least!

    Clutch!

I was wondering that - the pedal seems to feel normal when pushing on it, checked the level and its fine - no leaks apparant underneath anywhere where I park it!

    Clutch!

Bloomin buggerin Clutch seems to have gone on my 90, can run through the gears fine when engine off, but with engine running cant get into any forward gear, only reverse with some gear crunching. Because I dont really understand clutches or want to understand them (black magic as far as im...

Electrical issues - dash and reversing light

Hey all, cant find any answers by searching, so here goes... (All on a '92 200tdi) All dash back lights (and clock on centre fascia panel) now fail to iluminate (they used to work til t'other day) - the fault panel beneath still works fine. Not a blown fuse as far as I can ascertain unless...

    Simple electrics question

thanks for that - will give it ago tomorrow! Think i'm going to have to make a whole new circuit up for this one as well as the interior one!

    Simple electrics question

Also drifting back to the original question slightly - has anyone here ever fitted/replaced the reversing sensor switch to the gearbox? Is it an access from above or below?

    Simple electrics question

I don't even have a switch to put the volt meter across! Need to pick one up tomorrow- was thinking of being clever and putting in automatic ones opened and closed by the door but I think a On Off switch is more practical! :)

    Simple electrics question

Hi all, first couple of questions I want to ask - think I know but I'd rather check before I blow anything up! Had a search on the forum and the net and haven't found difinitive answer, apologies in advance if I have missed a blindingly obvious thread! My 110 is an ex military beastie, missing...
