Shame your'e not closer - I have a complete unit sitting in my shed gathering dust, was taking ages to pump the suspension so I fitted new rings but, in the meantime, I bought a new one - now this one is just taking up space.

Sounds like the XYZ switch to me - had same problem with mine.

At the risk of sounding stupid - could you not locate the relevant fuse and pull it out when the blade is down?

Wot I did with mine today was....just over 250 miles to Stoke on Trent round trip in my 04 4.4 petrol, steady erm....speed up the M40,42 and 6 returning 24.7 mpg and in total comfort steering with thumb and finger of each hand most of the way - after about 5 miles of Motorway she sat down...

You might already be aware but if not - make sure you pay, at least, the deposit using a credit card - your entire purchase is the covered under the consumer credit act as long as the dealer is legit.

Agree with Datatek- my 04 has the standard unit fitted and that has yet to discover some Roman roads! I bought a Garmin with a 6" screen for £100 with free lifetime map upgrades and it is superb.

Am I missing something here? My L322 v8 4.4 doesn't mover unless it's told to - stays at normal height engine on or off unless I adjust it - sounds to me like your previous car had a bad leak?

Think there's a guy on Fleabay that rebuilds the XYZ switch for about £60.Worth doing it yourself as my local independent RR guy charged me a tad under £600 to replace mine with a pattern part.

Not sure how the ring could "stick" yet allow the compressor to run but changing the piston ring is dead easy - I fitted the bagpipingandy (think that's what it was called) and the job takes less than an hour including removal/refitting - I was surprised at how worn my piston ring was.

Mine did a similar thing after being up on ramps for a few days but it sorted itself out once the codes had been cleared a couple of days later - 05 mine what year is yours? Just noticed on a previous thread yours is an 04 - shame you are not closer as I have a perfectly good compressor sitting...

Had front and back Diff Oils changed along with the Transfer Box Oil (I supplied the TB Oil) for a very reasonable cost of £70 which I thought was pretty good for a LR Specialist.
