Vissie, Do you think changing the rear diff oil may help to prevent premature failure? My diff OK. FL2 is a 58 with 67K. Owner’s manual states 10 years or 100k oil change. Thinking about a bit of preventative maintenance. Cheers.

Vissie, It's just been changed at 12 months interval, covered 9k. Without the service light appearing. Shall just have to see how it goes then. Also just past it's MOT. I bought my 58 Freelander 2 td4s 8 moths ago. It was last serviced by a Landrover dealer mid April last year. Having it serviced soon by an indie. Service indicator light has not appeared. I would have thought the dealer should have reset it from April last year, for it to come on 12 months...

Update. Think I've found a cheap plug & play code reader that works on my FL2. It's a D900 (2012 model). Reads & deletes CAN codes, with some live readings. More than happy with the code readers functions for the cash:)

I own an 58 FL2 td4s with 67k on the clock.

I had similar issue with my 58 FL2, a few months ago. Was caused by a clogged fuel filter, changed fuel filter. A1 now. The codes stored were:- P0087-22 & P0088-27. All relating to low fuel rail pressure.
