I bought my 58 Freelander 2 td4s 8 moths ago. It was last serviced by a Landrover dealer mid April last year. Having it serviced soon by an indie. Service indicator light has not appeared. I would have thought the dealer should have reset it from April last year, for it to come on 12 months...

Update. Think I've found a cheap plug & play code reader that works on my FL2. It's a D900 (2012 model). Reads & deletes CAN codes, with some live readings. More than happy with the code readers functions for the cash:)

I own an 58 FL2 td4s with 67k on the clock.

I had similar issue with my 58 FL2, a few months ago. Was caused by a clogged fuel filter, changed fuel filter. A1 now. The codes stored were:- P0087-22 & P0088-27. All relating to low fuel rail pressure.

Opcom is vaux only, need a laptop too. The ms509 worked on my Astra, Kia Rio, but not on the Fl2. The software may be diff on the Freelander Mk 1 & 2. Not totally sure though. I also have another cheap plug & play OBD2 scanner, does not work on the FL2 either. Neither will it read CAN systems.

Wow! That's expensive servicing. I stay well away from the dealers now. Probably best to use an independent specialist, that's if you don't want to get your hands dirty.
