Thats a costly mistake. I should have had the head skimmed and pressure tested when the gasket was replaced.

I've just replaced a working Bosch Starter on my 1997 Disco 1 with a new Prestolite, which I had just in case. The Prestolite lasted just one week before the solenoid malfunction. Looks like I'll be refitting the Bosch tomorrow.
