    3 spoke alloys dont fit

Thanks fett, never thougth they would not just fit. Is there a downside to fitting spacers and yes any recs on what spacer to use. I assume that means my RR is an early model. I dont trust the log book, happy to be tax free but not convinced it started life as a 72. What year did the hubs change...

    3 spoke alloys dont fit

got my hands on a set of classic 3 spoke alloys. My Range rover 'claims' to be a 1972 classic with steel wheels, i suspect it may be a little latter than 72 but the hubs prevent fitting the alloys. I assumed they would go on with no messing. If my RR is a 72, does it have larger hubs tham the...

    Running on veggie oil?!

in summer 100% veg, in winter i go to about 15% but as long as you have the oil well heated and your pump is Bosh pattern you should be ok on 100%, the lucas pattern pump in the issue when the oil is thick, it strugles, as well as getting smooth running. There are guys running on lard, but...

    Running on veggie oil?!

Let me clear this up - It is legal to run your vehicle on chip fat up to 2,500 ltrs per year, you are told to keep a log but very few do. - It is legal to run on any mixture of liquids when they are "Fuel duty" tax paid, Vat is not the issue, fuel duty is on any liquid fuel used to propel...

RR with 2.8 Izuzu, which auto box ?

Hummm, not the glowing 'use this and it will be great' that i hoped for but i get the piont on low end power, but i do love the motor, my SII with daihatsu 2.8 does have more low end but the Izuzu feels nicer and both seem to have more grun than the TD5 i drive last night, i guess thats why...

    Running on veggie oil?!

Oh and please note, it is picky but if you mix veg with a thining product with no duty paid such as white spirit or heating oil it is illigal, mixing with petrol is ok cos its duty paid, veg is duty free up to 2500 ltrs a year.

    Running on veggie oil?!

I run on 100% veg BUT i start it and shut down at night on diesel, it does not like starting on Veg especially a cold morning so i have 2 tanks and an electric swap valve. (SII with Daihatsu 2.8 n/a)

RR with 2.8 Izuzu, which auto box ?

James , thanks, i assume the existing setup has a kit to achieve the conversion, and therefore the V8 or Disco Auto box would also mate up to it OK ? . Also sorry, tdi valve block what / why is that needed , thanks, martin

RR with 2.8 Izuzu, which auto box ?

Just got my hands on a 1972 RR which has a 2.8 Izuzu married to the Manual Range rover 4sp box. Would like to swap for an Auto box, does any1 have experience of the conversion, what box to use. Any comments words of wisdom appreciated, i am a series LRO chap really, no experience of RR.

    Running on veggie oil?!

Sorry been off wandering around asia I got the valve from the US, i will try see what the dealer was called but just ordered it over the internet, wondered if i would ever see the valve or my money again but it arrived fine. Its a while ago now but the SII is still running well and still on...

SIII door locks on a SII

I have a SII and a dead SIII 109 sleeping in the garden, the door latches on the SII are in need of lots of re-furbing so i wondered if the SIII latches would fit on without any mods, not original but a better chance of the door staying closed going over large bumps given the more modern design.

    Kerosene oil

or pay the duty, its still cheeper than going to BP and it mixes with veg oil very well, in fact i think its better than diesel mixed with veg oil cos its a bit thiner and therefore beter for cold starting. One coment above said anything but deisel and bio is illigal, not true, veg oil is legal...

    Rough pricing for mates series?

A 62 is tax free, i think its worth more than some are saying, also it looks like a 88" from the pic ? A well restored tax free for anything close to 1,000 is a steal, I have a SIIa diesel tax free in "reasonable" nick, i would not consider less than 1400 for it, the tax free makes a diff as...
