So here's an update which might help others with a similar issue.
First, I removed and cleaned the ABS sensors on both rear wheels. This improved things but didn't fix it - sometimes the 3 Amigos would stay off for the whole journey, but sometimes I'd feel the TCS kicking in soon after...

Thanks GrumpyGel - yes the tyres are same make and tread depth and the pressures are even.
Currently on Uniroyal Rainsport 5's which are idea for the current UK summer weather !
-
Thanks Nodge68 - that all makes sense. I'll get my local 4x4 specialist on the case.

I have a strange and intermittent issue on my 2005 FL1 TD4. This is what happens...
The traction control and/or the ABS will operate on one of the rear wheels on a random basis. I think this is usually the left-hand rear. When it happens, it's usually immediately after exiting a right-hand...

No problem, although it's strange that no one else appears to have had this happen.
Have I discovered a totally new FL1 challenge to ownership ;)?

OK, problem located and fixed.
The retaining clip on the end of the spindle had worked loose (not sure how but the wife was the last person to drive the car so I'll blame her).
I've pushed this back on and it clicked into place so all now appears to be well.

My 2005 TD4 FL1 has developed a knock / click when depressing the clutch pedal. It can be felt as well as heard.
The noise disappears if the pedal is pushed to the left but re-appears when pushed to the right. And it tends to happen only when the pedal is allowed to return to the fully up...

Perfect, thanks, :) I'll take a look.

Thanks Andy, I suspected it might be that.
Is it an easy job ? I couldn't see anything in the door that looked like a solenoid.
I'm guessing it's well hidden, like most things Freelandery.

My 2005 3 door has developed a fault on the passenger door lock:- It will lock but not unlock on the central locking.
I've removed the inner door panel and taken a look inside but there's nothing obvious that could be causing this.
Any ideas ?
Thanks

Thanks Nodge68. I did wonder if there was a fix for the smoke rather than disconnecting it completely.
I guess the next question is - how do I clean the combustion chamber ?
-
Now the colder weather has returned I've started to notice an established 'feature' of my 2005 TD4 which I'd forgotten about all about during our long hot summer. And that's the amount of smoke that comes out of the diesel-fueled engine-heater exhaust after a short run.
I was filling up with...

I've started to notice my 05 Freelander TD4 makes a muffled "thump" when getting back on the power. This occurs when accelerating after an up-shift or when coming back on the power in a gear.
You feel it more than hear it and I'd say it's coming from the rear. I'm guessing it's a worn...

I just wanted to say 'Thanks' to ZDomZ for this posting:-
https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/how-to-tailgate-window-regulator-repair-replacement.246939/
It all worked perfectly.
The only problem I encountered (or stoopid error ?!?! ) was trying to reset the calibration with the door...

My turbo hoses are starting to look tired and leaky so I've been looking at replacement kits on the interweb. But I'm amazed at the wide range of prices. Lots of the cheaper options seem to be from China but then I guess so is lots of stuff you'd get from a main dealer these days.
Do you have...
