Coolant leak tomorrow as no manifold gaskets arrived in time.
Not sure about previous owners replacing it but there's no tamper dot on the display. The fact the lights flicker with the bulb test suggests it's intended for normal incandescent bulbs so I'm thinking it is original.
Nothing to lose by doing that, certainly.
TBH the cylinder heads on these vehicles are so complex what with having all the injection gubbins in them,
I'd also be giving the starter motor a large dose of looking at.
Those sounds, cos to me there...
Looks like it, people tend to disappear once their problem is 'resolved'. In this case it was either fixed or "fixed" as suggested in the first post :-)
Well, finally figured it all out.
Got trailered back to Oxford last night and spent the day messing about.
There seemed to be a few issues all rolled into one. Exactly which one was the cause I don't know.
The steering lock was duff, managed...
