Appreciate the suggestions. I probably wouldn't have gone back to the tow bar after cleaning it the first time if it wasn't for your suggestion. Just glad it wasn't more serious.

Resolved! Tow bar electrics were to blame! Not sure whether it was at the connector behind the headlight or at the plugs themselves, but they were twist and taped onto the loom just under the proper LR connector! Got to laugh.

It's not a bad shout - the fact that the interior lights all flash when the headlight circuit is switched off, and even the headlight buzzer will sound when the hazards are pressed makes me worried it could be worse than an earthing...

The driver's carpet is out for drying at the moment due to a hole behind the accelerator pedal, it's dry around all the wiring in the cabin though. Had the kick panel off and checked all around it, no signs of water at all. The boot is dry as far as i can see. I don't have RAVE yet, no. I do...

Hi all,
I forded the Disco through some water too deep at the weekend, it's mucked up my indicators and sidelights.
Symptoms are that when i press the hazards, they flash at an increased rate and all the side lights (including all the dash lighting) illuminates with them.
When i turn the...

Update: Hopefully fixed!
The fuel sender has been replaced, i removed the old fuel lines, bypassing the sedimenter until I buy a replacement.
I replaced all the fuel lines with 8mm braided PVC hose, I didn't want to deal with the barbs, olives and fittings. It seems to be fine with some decent...

Well this would more than likely be the cause of my problem then! Fell apart in my hands. Got a new Britpart one on Saturday, and the bloody earth fell off! They do like to make it hard to like them, don't they!!
Replacing the whole fuel lines now - Saturday tried to find any kind of 8mm hose -...

Update from me: We had a breakdown on the M40 last night. Tanking down the M40 at a nice 65mph for about 45 mins and all of a sudden i'm flat to the floor and we're still decelerating. Manage to downshift into 3rd on-boost (it stalled if i dipped the clutch), the car just about chugged its way...

Hi, I thought i'd start a thread to document a problem i'm having with my Disco.
It's a 200TDI that i've recently purchased. And instantly I noticed it doesn't go anywhere near as well as my old 200, as well as the following problems:
The Disco is slow to start. I mean it cranks over OK - maybe...

Hi Jamie, yes - this policy was through Adrian Flux.

I started my policy a couple of weeks ago, mentioning I was a forum member on this here forum. I sent the required documents off including my forum username, which i've since received an email confirmation of, but they still want "members club confirmation". What more do I need to provide?

It's worse than that - It's PDO! The less said about that the better, to be honest... Though it has given the car an amusing nickname nonetheless.
I'm going for the half with the least rust! Even if it is the leaky badly earthed half! I'm way out of my comfort zone in the rust department...

Hello! I'm Andrew and i've just gone halves with my mate for my first Land Rover - a Discovery 200TDI.
I've never driven or owned an off road vehicle before, so it's all about the experience and learning for me. My friend has done some off-roading in a Jimny, but it's his first Land Rover...
