Maybe bad luck with regards to the seal. I fitted a Genuine flange and seal a couple of years ago, leaking again. Also had a seal fail in no time and others just fine. Good job the seals are cheap enough, try another one.

Just to offer a conclusion..
The backbox including the 1 damaged tail pipe was lowered and cut off. Then, a genuine, used backbox was welded on. This was then correctly installed
