Does it turn over by hand?
I am not sure why the RAC or recovery guy would run an engine with the oil pressure light on.
It might have had plenty of oil but if it isn't circulating around the engine then it's not doing much good.
You will need to...
Looks pretty tidy but at the same time giving you enough to tinker with.
Fan belt looks out of alignment or maybe it's the angle of the photo.
I just used to use unleaded fuel when we had one.
If there is a glass thickness difference I imagine there is a rubber difference. Looks like there should be an insert to go in the seal.
Regardless it does look smaller than it should be.
I bought a pair of brake calipers from Paddocks thinking they would send Britpart. What turned up was labelled PEAC. You could bleed them as much as you like, they wouldn't work, both failed straight out of the box.
Bought some Britpart ones...
Well, you say that but I had two leaking injectors and a leaking injector pump after being refurbished by Diesel Bob.
Although he honoured the warranty I do wonder if I would use them again
Just spent the past 2.5hrs undoing and freeing up one front radius arm bolt, one more to go tomorrow.
Seriously thinking about taking up stamp collecting as a hobby instead!
Do you not drill out the spot welds and rivet the new one in place using the same holes?
Or cut it off from the back and bond it in place, would look neater.
The Ninety will need a chassis swap sometime in the future when funds allow.
I would like to get some recommendations on companies people have used in the past. We are in Berkshire but would travel just about anywhere, within reason.
I don't mean...
I would like some feedback from people who have used Alpine Restorations before, good and bad.
If you prefer, for some reason, please sent a private message.
Went really well, for once Old Blue didn't put up much of a fight. Bit of a squeeze to get the new outrigger aligned but not too hard. The old one was so bad (no supportat all), you can feel the difference in the bends.
Are you getting upset because we gave you an answer you don't like?
A D3 will cost you plenty, it's a knackered old luxury 4x4.
A D2 is also the same but less expensive to put right, they don't all have ace you know.
Many green laning idiots have...
I have the feeling you want something that doesn't exist, also no one sits at 85mph on the motorway anymore if you want to keep their licence.
200tdi will sit on the motorway at 70mph no problem.
Now you don't want diesel as its too slow, you...
America isn't interested in that though, they want all fitted parts made there aswell.
BMW have a massive factory there, the biggest exporter by value than any other manufacturer. Still the powers that be are accusing them of being parts...
I thought you were asking questions about the potential cost of owning a D3?
Find some for sale, see if you like them, check them over and post the pics/reports on here and you’ll get some valuable feedback on the actual vehicles.
If you don’t...
So it is a hobby car then as you have a Subaru for normal duties.
Suitable D2 on Def2.net for you at £2k.
As for going to see some D3, how can you judge what a £3k vehicle looks like if you don't compare some?
You either have the money or you...
If you are paying to have it properly restored it will cost 3 or 4 times its worth.
New chassis maybe twice what it's worth. All depends how much it owes you at the moment.
