No, I might have had some silly cars but they didn't cost thousands as they all sold for the same or more, so price neutral.
.Fuel economy wasn't great though on some of them.
Apart from the Morris Minor and 300e van they were daily drivers.

No, he’s not.
You seem to be going round in circles as to whether to get one or not, and how much it ‘might’ need spending on it. That needs a LR crystal ball - but you know that.
Go and see a couple and post on here for feedback.
With regards to Paddocks make sure you find out the supplier/manufacturer first ..........if they will tell you.
AFTERMARKET means anything could turn up.
Actually they have worse than Britpart, believe it or not.

Didn't say set fire to your money did I?
It sounds like you want a cheap D3 as a laning toy rather than something you need, a hobby car essentially.
It's luck of the draw if you get a good one, realistically you won't and it will cost money...
I didn't really. My first Firebird was a months money and so was the insurance.
Think I was about 26 when I realised I should start to make an effort to grow up.
We had some Romanians living next door, very dodgy and somewhat annoying. Mind you he explained that his whole country is like that and everything is open to a bribe, even to get a school place.
Being a youngster you are meant to do stupid things so just buy one. I bought plenty of impractical vehicles when I was young without any thought what so ever. It's far easier now with the Internet to gain knowledge and find parts than it was...
Series123 club or Series2 club might be worth joining.
New genuine parts will be few and far between, also expensive.
Good supply of most parts available aftermarket of varying quality.
Cut it off and bash the new one in and weld it on, if you have the one with the reduced tube size.
I would support the tub with a jack and piece of wood when removing the bolts.
Don't weld galvanised metal as its bad for you.
I found the "specialists" wanted this that and the other and were more expensive than normal insurance company. Admiral were best for me and my son, I didn't inform them of the additional security as it wouldn't have made a difference.
First thing would be to check properly your main earth and live cables, clean and replace if needed.
A burning smell possibly indicates a burned out cable somewhere.
Might even be the starter motor itself at fault, can you easily take it out and...
Don't think our classic has seen the road for a couple of years. Last time I took it out I decided the wheel bearing needed adjustment, I put it back in the garage and I still haven't done it.
I think the historic route is a plan to regulate the...
Don't know but you will need to clean it all off first anyway so might aswell seal up the camshaft cover.
Mine produced quite a bit of oil when it leaked, depends on how long it's been leaking.
I would clean all the oil off, pop the camshaft cover out and seal it back up, costs nothing almost.
Then you can watch to see where the oil reappears.
You need to post a picture of the gap between front edge of the door and the a pillar.
Also see how much play you have in the hinges to see if they need replacing also.
