Too late! Sorry guys but I think I may have started WW3!
And we can't even blame the Donald!
Thanks mate, I've been into electronics and computers since I was 15 and been programming off and on ever since so this stuff is what I...
If I was doing this kind of stuff every day or even every week then yes I agree but it might be 6 months before I'm back at it and I'll be round the fish bowl waaaaay too often to remember anything I've learned.
And anyway I tried to learn...
It turns out if you want AI to write your code you need to give it VERY specific requirements. Sometimes you even need to suggest where it might have gone wrong for it to repair it's mistakes. After many hours staring at the damn thing it...
Phew! After many not fun hours fighting with ChatGPT and Deepseek, I finally have a working software solution, if anybody is mad enough to have a look the code is below.
Basically I gave up on using a MOSFET module as neither ChatGPT nor Deepseek...
I've got a little further with charge control
As always I need to write this out cause my brain is way to small to think this through and every time I think it's ready to wire into the car I realise I've forgotten about some issue that could crop...
It's t
It's the way I've approached the whole thing from 2020.
I started with a vague idea what to do, broke the whole thing down into bite sized projects and worked on each as I came to it.
It resulted in mistakes and extra work from time to...
So I've spent a bit more time on the charging and am finally getting close to sorting it.
As usual for me I didn't plan ahead very well so ended up with two circuit boards so this is what I've now got.
The circuit with the LM393 still detects...
Daughter brought my old F1 over so I could service it for her… I ordered the parts last week from AF.
Pleased to see it’s not leaking anything, and still running sweet.
Oil and filters changes.
She stopped for a bite to eat and left, but seems...
For the starter inhibit in gears other than Park and Neutral, the V6 uses a white wire from the auto box to the Immob ECU.
Now, the Immob ECU prevents cranking when the ignition key chip is incorrect too and also requires a key chip match to the...
I haven't reported on progress for a while. I have been mad busy making progress.......
The exhaust is now extended, on and seems to work well.
The cooling system is now finished, but I have a leak somewhere on the back of the engine. I'm...
Well done getting them off.
I saw an "expert" on Pootube using fine grit wet and dry sandpaper on headlight lenses followed by lacquer but I've no idea how long it lasted after, he claimed years of people using product to clean them made them...
Not sure if it will help but the wings come off pretty easily. Unbolt at the top then a couple of screws in the door shut and one or two in the wheel arch.
You would be lucky to drill the bolts without melting a lot of plastic.
Yep, it's the two screws holding the guards on to the wing that are the issue. All four of them! I guess they have rivnuts or somethig on them. The headlights will be staying on the car but the guards really do need to come off for me to polish...
The link doesn't work for me as I don't use MS but maybe will be OK for others. It's for me OK cause I don't need them but was just asking in case it would be helpful for other 3 door owners.
Finally sorted the soft clutch after replacing the gearbox, new bracket and Slave Cylinder was needed so installed those, and while I was there, fixed a horrible squeal that we had on start, tightening the alternator, what a lovely start now 😂...
Done it. Like using the suede effect. Nice and thin and stretches.
The best tip is only to glue about 12 inches, sorry 300mm at a time and take your time.
Don't glue the edges until you are done and then the glue won't grab the fabric while...
