I don't think the brakes are binding but will check. No smells though! Fuel is the next thing on my list so I will try the fuel cap thing. Could low/crappy gearbox oil impede the transmission and cause the symptoms? Thanks

Thanks for the advice. I flushed it until it all ran clear and then filled with water only. I will drain and refill in a day or two and put the antifreeze in. Still not sure which is best to go for! No mixing though!
