    clutch

Had a similar problem with mine - couldn't seem to get it bleed cleanly using through the clutch pedal. Was a down facing slope so maybe air was getting trapped in the slave. Got a Gunsons ezibleed kit from screwfix and it did the job in about a minute. Used pressure from an old spare wheel -...

Anyone got a 200tdi injection pump?

Hi POS, Am in the same boat, I contacted this guy- http://www.forum-auto.com/pole-technique/s...sujet293129.htm He quoted me £195 - 395 plus VAT depending on what was wrong - still alot cheaper than a new pump. Also found this - looks really good but is not quite the same as the Tdi pump but...

    Help with injection pump

Sorry been away for a few days - I can get diesel to the fuel filter, if I slacken the bleed screw, I can also get fuel to the inlet on the injection pump - and to the drain on the back of the pump. When the engine is cranked no fuel gets to the injectors - so must be returning directly via the...

    Help with injection pump

Fair point - it was a gamble - engine was in really good nick only needed a hone and new bearings - never saw it running. It did start for about a second then stopped. Gut feeling is a blockage as the engine was sitting around for a year before I rebuilt it and god knows how long before that...

    200tdi conversion

Hi, Am looking to bolt 200Tdi disco engine to old 2.5NA clutch housing - but the 4 bolts on the ladder frame are missing on the 2.5NA. Is it OK to bolt up and forget the 4 bolts or do I have to drill and tap the old disco cover to fit - does it matter - it would be easier to just bolt up the...

    2.5NA bellhousing

Hi, Does anyone know how many studs hold the bellhousing onto the gearbox? I have removed everything I can find, including the 2 hidden below the starter motor and all the top ones and the engine will not split. I have removed half of the studs as well but it still wont budge - is there a...

    200Tdi PAS

Hi, Just a quick question - fitting a disco 200Tdi into a 2.5NA - the power steering pump on the disco has a screw in thread (high pressure) and the 2.5 has a banjo joint so I need a new pipe. Which PAS pipe will fit as a replacement as the pump is also higher up - disco or defender pipe? Thanks

    Charging system

Since the cold and rain disappeared my ammeter has been reading right over on the right hand side (charging), suddenly it started to sit just the wrong side of zero (discharging) even at revs. The battery warning light does not come on even pre ignition (diesel).Wiring looks ok, and alternator...

    200Tdi gaskets

In the process of stripping down a 200Tdi engine. Looked at the prices for top and bottom genuine gasket sets and probably looking at £200 plus . Aftermarket sets are so much cheaper - £50. Is there really that much of a difference - intend to use a genuine head gasket - see Glencoyne do a...
