hello guys, currently looking for a disco, and am budgeting for about £6k. Has to be diesel, unsure about auto or manual...advice/suggestions. Will be using to go to and from work and some light off roading. Previously has a 95 RR 2.5dt, but had to go as the transmission and gearbox on...

thankfully i only did this once when i had bought it, as it needed a good going over. Now, armed with rave, i have done it myself. As i keep telling the wife, i'm not made of ****ing money!!!

Currently own a 1995 p38 dse. This winter she needed a new middle/back exhaust (£200), new pre-tensioner arm plus fitting (£160), new battery £75, plus usual running costs. Change of filters, new oil and topping up diffs/gearbox about £150. 100 miles is about £25 of diesel, around town/short...

Does anyone know were i can get a 2nd hand transfer box ecu for a p38 diesel manual. Dont want to have to hand over £160 to the local range dealer for a new one if i can help it. Ebay usually has around a dozen available but all for petrol autos. Any advice welcome.

No problems, you can checkout the website www.tawpark4x4.com, which has the ebay link on it, plus photos and full fitting instructions. Learn from my mistakes..... read the instructions carefully!!

Goldpanner, many thanks for the update, at work tonite but will look at in the morning. Just one question......w3hat the hell have i actually cut into in the wiring loom?????? Time to consult rave for wisdom.

thanks goldpanner, sounds like i have the exact same unit as you. When you cut into the engine temp sender wire, the instruction say to cut the blue/grey wire on the wiring loom. The only one i could find had a dark grey stripe which looked almost brown..... Does this sound like the right one...
