Pulled plugs 1 & 3 (swapped yesterday) out of the mini and yup dirty plug from 3 is now nice & clean in Cyl1 and clean plug from Cyl1 is now dirtied up by Cyl3. I think I will just run it over the rest of the season and maybe take the head off...

Tis nice to be nice, I spent my lunch hour fixing my older neebs log burner, she had it serviced/chimney swept & a week later the throat plate fell down, a few peeps tried to sort it but it wouldnt go back up.... the sweep had bent the rear...

...that I am happy now I have repaired all the stats that weren't working, bar the one that got heated! Although even that one might still be repairable with a new capacitor and relay, and a bit of work on the PCB. So I have now repaired 8 plus...

Water in oil will raise the level on the stick, or if driven up to temps will start to show the "mayo" in the oil filler cap. If it was only on number 3 and thats the 1 giving concern maybe something else is going on in that cylinder/head gasket...

Well done with that job - I hate to rain on your parade but if some of the pedestal bolts are also head bolts and some water has passed, might the head gasket be compromised and having already been compressed, might continue to leak?

Our solar hot water tank is 300 litres and can get as hot as 95 degs, not that we ever would!
