Pulled plugs 1 & 3 (swapped yesterday) out of the mini and yup dirty plug from 3 is now nice & clean in Cyl1 and clean plug from Cyl1 is now dirtied up by Cyl3. I think I will just run it over the rest of the season and maybe take the head off...

Good time at the mini club last night. :)
With the phone doing the satnav thing I can see the Mini is almost 5mph slow on the clock. Good to know.

...that I am happy now I have repaired all the stats that weren't working, bar the one that got heated! Although even that one might still be repairable with a new capacitor and relay, and a bit of work on the PCB.
So I have now repaired 8 plus...

And today's news is that I have started on the electronics.
I have desoldered one big and awkward to get to capacitor, measured its capacitance, and sho nuff, it is 20 mF where it should be 47 mF.
So it looks like the peeps on the forum were...
Well done with that job - I hate to rain on your parade but if some of the pedestal bolts are also head bolts and some water has passed, might the head gasket be compromised and having already been compressed, might continue to leak?
