The alternator died on the Disco 4 in the snow, got it recovered to the dealership who have just quoted me £600 +VAT + labour to replace it! What's so special about a genuine LR alternator that makes it twice the price of a Denso alternator from a supplier?
I wish I'd kept it on the driveway...

Cutting a very long story as short as possible...
Disco 4 went in for service and investigation of a small engine oil leak to an independent. On the way back from the garage one of the turbos blew so it was towed back to the garage. Three weeks, two new turbos and one bruised credit card later...

So, I eventually found someone who manufactures them... in Bahrain! $25USD on eBay, arrived by post in 2 days, less than 1 hour to fit. Job done.
