TD4 '53 clutch pedal risng too high

Afternoon guys, the clutch pedal on my TD4 has started to pop-up further than usual. The clutch and drive are fine, just keep catching my foot when it pops up !!! any ideas?
I've been given a lead that it could be either the clutch pedal switch or a faulty master cylinder.... Rgds Mike

Same thing just happened to me on the way to work.
Pedal popped up but actual clutch operation seems ok.
Any ideas anyone.

the circlip is broken that holds the plunger assy in the barrel of the master cyl.
