disco side steps

Hi I have just got some side steps for my 200 my problem is the fitting of them as the mounts on the car they came off were f***ed where can I get some from and how much?

That will depend i'm afraid on the manufacture or supplier of your steps as they all have there own method of fixing.

No... but u will have to post a pic of the top and underneath so they can be recognized by someone.

Ok that was quick they are "rusty" genuine parts steps the brackets are not shown in the parts book but u can try STC8087AA or STC8049.
I have a pic of the brackets somewhere i'll find it an post it tomorrow ok u could make them may be.

The brackets bolt to the body mounts and also the out riggers.

You may soon need new steps to go with them new brackets ur gonna buy

if you got stuck finding the bracket....give me a pm.....I can make you a set......

I've gotta set of rusty side steps I've not thrown out yet, pretty sure I've got the mounting brackets in the garage inorl. I'll have a look tomorrow.

If I could pick your brain
I have a 300tdi and the steps look the same but mine are much rustier
Are the steps held on with 8 little bolts only
If I can get em off I might see about refurbing them

Hi pauli yes the steps are held on with 2 bolts front and 2 at the back took my m8 about 15mins to take them off

no king I didnt pay anything the car was going for scrap so my m8 took them off and said I could have them if they were any good

Looks similar to what I got.

Na, not similar they 'are' the brackets, a collectors item.
Clean and a spray worth £15 + P&P.

Side steps.....!!!!
Leave them off & fit rock/tree sliders instead.

I have the chance of some side steps, but they have no brackets. I waiting for a price from the guy whos selling them.

Is there still a set of brackets up for grabs?

Just on another very similar thread and noticed this one,
I think I may have a set of brackets in the garage
Brand new never fitted to my old 300tdi, if you can wait till Friday
I will have a look in the garage, I am away at the moment with work
So am on my phone ,will post again on friday
