Now that I have got my 110 CSW after it has a 200Tdi fitted to replace the knackered 2.5 TD. I have been told that it hasn't actually been waxoiled just badly painted with black paint so I am looking for some advice on how to go about waxoiling it. Will I need to strip the black paint stuff off or do I just waxoil on top of it? Also how much waxoil will I need? Do I just paint it on or do I need any special equipment? How many coats will I need to do? Also I would like to thank everybody for the help when I was needing to change engines. Thanks :D

I put clear inside the chassis and black on the outside so you will need a tube of some sorts to get in all the nooks and crannies. Waxoil do sell one that attaches to a pump type dispenser and a schultz gun for airlines. I don't think you can ever apply too much of the stuff. If your door bottoms are in good nick take the cards off the insides and give them a good coat of clear, make sure you don't block up any drain holes. I also take the bolts out of the door hinges and blow it inside the bulkhead. As fer the black paint if it's not loose you can go over it, it will be worth getting it properly steamed by someone that has a 4 post lift so they can get a good look under it. I would also make sure you cover up with some of those disposable overalls as it gets everywhere and if it's a bit thick in the can, warm it a little so it flows better.

Thanks Brad, I was having a good look underneath today and I have noticed that the engine bay area is covered in old oil. I assumed the leaking would of stopped now that I have a new engine put in but there is something still leaking. I can't tell what as there is oil everywhere. Whats the best way to get rid of the old oil so I can figure out what is and isn't leaking?

It is kinda front offside. I think it is from the power steering box, I think that is the big green box. I also think it may be leaking from the gearbox but I am unsure if that is because the engine just got changed and is just some residue. I think I need to give it a good clean and see what is what. If I steam clean it do I need to do anything to protect the metal as my manuel says something about waxing it after steam cleaning. Also would a run of the mill steam cleaner do it?

That's what yer waxoil is for, as long as it will give you hot water at high pressure it should work ok. Avoid the electrical bits on yer landy and flakey paint as it will remove that as well
