Hi all.
I pulled into a petrol station recently, filled up, came back to the landy and it wouldn't start. This happened about 4 months ago but then resolved itself. Its runs fine after a bump and the battery has had a good charge.
Ive attached a video of the problem.

Thanks
Wes

If its the battery Im confused why it Did it a few months ago, then worked fine for a number of months and Has now started again.

alternator not charging properly?
you're using more current than normal?
summit left on?
cold nights are back?

etc etc

it costs nothing to test the battery so give it a shot

Also, battery has been on charge all day and charger says its charged. I pulled the charger off 2mins before the video

Ok, battery tested. It's fine. Also tried using a jump lead to earth it and no change. If anyone has any ideas it'll be much appreciated!

Next try a jump lead from your battery to the starter solenoid, and see if that works.

If it does, then it looks like it could be a fault in tne wirining between the switch and the relay.

I have a simular problem, however if i start mine straight up its ok, If i leave the ignition on it starts to drain the battery rather quickly. Test the voltage of your battery when its been sat still, then switch your ignition on and see if its draining like mine does. My battery also says its all good!

Or if that dosent work put a jump lead from battery + to the starter live feed and try that could be a bad live wire!
Dan

Just noticed it's been said lol

So I'm still trying to sort this out! Went out tonight turned over fast, started right away. turned the engine off after running for about 5mins. Tried starting it again clicked once then nothing. Then the dash showed nothing at all. No lights no anything. Took the key out back in, still nothing. Put key back in 2 mins later, dash lights on, 1 click then all lights out and nothing. Could this be related to an earth on the ignition switch (if it has one)?

Have you checked all your cables, i.e. earths and not only that but your + cables are tight both ends also?

Possibly check the ignition barrel cables ect? Im not too clued up with the cables for the ignition barrel so i couldn't help.

Also. sounds very much like what my disco 300tdi has done a couple times.. And that was down to loose connections on the battery side, first i thought it was the battery and luckily had a spare battery in the boot.
