Hello,

I've been having a good read through both Patman and Richard Eaton's 200TDi conversion topics and there are plenty of pics of intercooler and air intake pipework solutions, but I'm after YOURS too! I'm trying to get as wide a range of work arounds that people have come up with so that I can try and create the best system for mine. I don't have power steering so there are no restrictions there, but I do still have my original air filter and air filter stand type thing mounted to my chassis which I fully intend on using.

Any more pics anyone? :D
Thanks

To be honest it depends what you are left with after the transplant and how much you want to spend on it. My 300tdi uses a mix of NA and 300 disco pipes, I intended on using the original standing air box but it gets in the way of the intercooler so it went, one day I will make a bracket to mount it to the aircon mount, a little more bracketry needed to put it in a similar location on the 200. If you have spare money then you could just get all the pipes made up. As for the turbo are you using a Fender engine or Disco? If you use a Disco engine then you will have the turbo pipe issue, so undo the turbo and spin the halfs so the exhaust is not going into the footwell, then make up pipe from there.

You mean I can actually rotate the exhaust down pipe via the turbo? I imagine that'll be a sod to free of will it?

Well, I've been and picked the engine up. Got everything that I'm going to need. Some of the fins on the radiator are shagged so that'll need replacing in the near future (it doesn't leak). How much is it likely to cost to have it re-furbed or whatever they do to them? also, the frame that it sits in is a little scratty, so I'll be sanding it down and painting it up me thinks. Other than that I'm very happy! Just need to get cracking now :) The clutch looks good and there's no oil oosing out from anywhere either.

Hi Pos

Well today I've eventually finished my 200TDi conversion and just got round to updating the thread with a load of piccies which should help. As it's fresh in my head then just give me a shout if you want any advice.

Anyway, in the end I went back to using the original TD header tank and original TD air filter. I then made up some of hoses and pipes from a combination of my original TD ones and the Disco ones. It's all a bit of a squeeze but I'm really happy with the end result

Hope the piccies help

Richard
