"yeh landrovers....who'd 'ave em"
anyone whos mechanically competent and knows barn door engineering when they see it.

sure they break, its normal but they're **** easy to fix! (well 90% of it is)

if it doesn't break, then YOUR NOT TRYING HARD ENOUGH!!!

tell ya what....

i work at events and festivals, did one not long ago and had a brand new toyota hilux wwith 700 odd miles on the clock, and a defender 90 with around the same and one of the duratorque engines, big country estate grounds , fields, lanes, country roads, tracks, inside the festival so lots of mudd lanes and going slow in thick mud, a variety of driving and lugging stuff about, jumping in out, people in the back, etc etc

the hilux.. i wouldnt of took it home for 2 grand, its was terrible, build quality absololoutly woeful, felt ****e in the mud and no real confidence in it, ok it did the job but things felt like theyd break, trim and interior felt poor, and going through fields and stuff, it generaly felt like you had to really take it easy in fear of breaking it

now the defender...absoloute monster, duratorque engine aside- which is phenominal i thought- it just loved it and had immense power delivery for the tasks and for "fun" , but the thing felt rock solid like you wouldnt break it and it was well up to the job, flying through fields and woods in that and boming through big mud/water filled dips making water spray right up everywhere not only gave you an immense smile but that land rover was trusty it loved it, ..the toyota you couldnt do quite the same you sort of shat yourself like it would break something underneath

driving the 2 there was no comparison

landys always break, that why I have a nazi and a slitty too!

best thing is to have a landy as a hobby only then it doesnt matter :D

Does the BBC article mean break down as in physically stop on the road and be unable to move? Or just something will go wrong, The Air suspension systems on RR and Disco's probably contributes to 6 of those break downs

Thought my disco was sorted until I mistakenly parked it up over night and it filled no.1 bore with water!
Kids mean no money but landrover ownership means no money, hair or free time!

Anyone know if there is a stud and nut conversion for exhaust manifolds on a 3.9 v8 efi?
