Evening all,
I've searched the forum for this problem but it seemed to go largely unanswered.
Only one side of the windscreen de-mists on my P38.
I've transposed the fuses and relays and the same side of the windscreen still refuses to work. My next stage in fault finding is the actual wiring that feeds the screen.
I've used the RAVE cd to find out the screen has two connectors for the heated screen, only it doesn't describe where they are. I don't want to strip the front scuttle off only to find the wires are behind the dash!!

Fellow owners, anyone experienced this problem and then resolved it??

Help please, the cold weathers coming!!:p

Hi,

Had the same problem on my rangie. There are two connectors one for the LH and one for the RH elements. these are under the front scuttle. Easy job to remove. All you have to do is remove the panels which run vertically up the side of the screen with the door seals. Then remove the cover strip along the bottom of the screen, this is just clipped in but the knack is not to bend it or you will never get it to go down flat again and at speed it will vibrate and drive you made. You will have to take the wipers arms off, It is then just a matter of unscrewing the scuttle. You will see the two connectors for the screen elements, But the route cause to mine playing up was the earth point was badly corroded. After cleaning that up and reassembling. all worked.

A nice cheep fix on a rangie. I did have to by a new cover strip for along the bottom of the screen mind.

Hope this helps.

Bryan

i have checked under the scuttle and found the connections. They appear to be OK, but where are the connections on the windscreen? Are these connections physically attached to the screen when it is fitted (therefore a new connection with a new windscreen) or do they use the existing connections when replacing the windscreen?

Thanks.

you might want to check that your heater core hasn't sprung a slight leak as that may cause one side to be near on permanently misted
