95 p38 owners take note if you have an immobiliser activation.
I had a hell of a 24hours. It started friday midday, while onsite i needed a battery to start a piece of plant which i took from my P38. :doh:When I refitted it I got the notice on the dash that the engine disabled, enter keycode or press remote. Possibly because I had locked the doors before disconnecting?
Pressing remote did not do anything eventhough led went red. I did not have eka code. I tried many fixes from this forum including using eka 1515 but to no avail.
On Saturday I got the eka from a main dealer(maybe stealer) for a charge of 40euros. I input it as per the rave info, starting with the 4 left turns but no good. I then connected my faultmate via laptop. This allowed me access to many modules but not to the body control one where i am sure I had deactivated the immobiliser!
I had given up and ordered a recovery truck when I remembered that a previous post mentioned that the rave info related to 96> with the addition of the 4left turns to start the procedure.
I then tried the eka input starting with Xturns to the right then y to the left etc as per the eka. I was amazed when it worked on completing the sequence when the red led on the dash quenched :)

Thanks to Irishrover who gave me some guidance but was away on hols, otherwise I would have got the becm unlocked by him to cure it.

If I knew then what I now know! What doesn't break you, makes you stronger!

Mgmayo,

I'm having a similar nightmare with my '95 P38 and have tried my EKA code with no affect.
Can you explain about this additional 4 turns to start it off? Do u need to take the key out of the lock in between?

MAny Thanks.

You could always have used the search:
You need to enter the EKA code and resynch the key to the car.
In disconecting the neg lead the BECM has lost synch.
You should have a 4 digit code called an EKA code.
to enter it you need to make sure all doors and boot and bonnet are closed. All the dorrs need to be unlocked. Do this manually.
The put your key into the drivers door, and do 4 locks (turns to the rear), then the required number of turns to unlock, followed by 2nd number of locks, then unlocks, then locks. finally press the unlock botton on your fob and turn the key to unlock whilst keeping it dipressed. This should then resynch your key and allow you to start.
Note that you must wait for the keycode lock out messegse to disapear. This can take upto 30 mins.
Battery drain is an issue, I have installed a solar charger on mine to trickle charge while stood.

Hope this helps.

The 95/6 year models do not require the four turns to initiate the EKA sequence.mine is a 95 and there is no mention of the 4 turns in the Owners manual,I have tried mine and it does work without the 4 turns and does not work with the 4turns.

Hi JSF79, the other guys got to you before me with great info, so it should have worked for you. Great to have the scans on here from mystery as I could not find such info relevant to the 95 model. As I did not get a manual I was dependent on RAVE, while being excellent it does not cover the 95 nuances
