Standard procedure . . . dump all the particulates in the counrtryside rather than in the towns !! I asusme overall pollution must be similar to a pre-DPF car !!

Looks like you’re dealing with the classic modern diesel problem. Around town they never really get up to proper temps, so all the emissions systems end up clogging or acting up. Give them a proper motorway run every so often and they behave way...

Unplugging the MAF made no difference to the symptoms, but I've got no dash lights (ignoring the ABS mates that turn up every once in a while), could it still be MAF?

Well they do say that in the country of the blind the one-eyed man is king! My problem is that we leave these things on when we aren't here to stop the pipes freezing up, basically, and clothes etc going mouldy, and paint etc in tins going off...

Oh everything from the stat onwards works fine, this is how we have been surviving until now, I shift the working stats around to get heat where we need it. I even have a really simple stat a typical bimetallic thing, that works across just the...

Have 4 genuine Land Rover sensors for sale. A quick Google suggests they are pretty expensive and fit various Land Rover models. £100 posted.

Normally I do screen shots if I think it’s a motor I know. If someone wants to posh my motor up fair play.. it will still look like a farm wagon no matter what they do.

My son had similar DPF errors on his previous Jag XF. Most of his journeys at the time were 4-5 miles twice a day to & from work. Regular blasts up the M40 after his girlfriend moved to Buckingham cleared it with no garage visit required.

Standard original early 10p ECMs were un-remappable I believe without changing a chip, at least one, but @sierrafery will confirm. Have you already done live data? I still think it could be the MAP/Iat as it was very like that on mine till I...

Thanks mate! I'll give it a go if it seems necessary. As it is I'll be desoldering them last as they are a bit awkward to get at and not as easy to get off as the caps. TBH if the caps don't fix it, then it looks like it must be it. The whole...

pays to check where crimp lugs attach to cable as well as where the lug contacts the body ( usually large deposits of green sulphate is a good warning sign of future problems)

I have a similar problem with my 2011 TDV8, see my "broken down in Belgium" thread! I mentioned on there that a lot of the modern buses I drive have this problem and they do a regen on them which involves running the engine at high revs for about...

Latest update, I wish I'd found this garage earlier! The car is now at Erezée. They've found there's a section of the long fan belt about 4cm long and 1cm wide has been flapping around and may have caused a bit of wiring damage. Until they get...

Others have mentioned Rouen as being a total PITA from this point of view. As we never go near there we do not have an alternative. I can see from the map that when we were forced to use Dieppe a couple of times we managed to get around it and...

Do hope they have a backing piece to keep them all in place. Sounds like it does. In the past, when removing and moving things around in a kitchen I have had to "save" tiles for reuse elsewhere. It is a flipping nightmare as you prolly know. and...
