It is a case of attacking the chassis and other steel components with a wire brush etc and then as you say treating the rust. Once that is dry (next day if you can wait) then Dinitrol is good as are many of the other branded sealers. I like the...

I just thought of it @ar1g3, are both the harmonic weights for your diffs still there and their bolts tight/rubber bushes still intact?
  • L
Absolutely! Fuel uptake rook 2× M4x16s and around the sender required 6x SAE 6-40s. Hopefully that helps someone in the future.

What should we pay attention to when removing the MAP sensor? Do we need to pull the wire shown in the picture upward? Most importantly, what should we use to clean it, and should we squeeze it into the hole?

Haven't got my V5 at hand, so from memory; My 2012 factory station wagon has body type Dual Purpose Vehicle. (The only difference I can see that this makes, is it is not restricted to the same speed limits as commercial vehicles). The important...

Don't waste your time with WD40. I've been using an aerosol of gun oil for years. It's a great corrosion inhibitor.

To clarify at the start I am not interested in changing the body type so it is ULEZ or similar exempt. This is purely so things are correct on record with the DVLA. All the vehicles will be historic class in the next couple of years, and only the...

The link rod on our freelander 2 failed while we were on holiday. I think that the rubber part that sits behind the ball and socket mechanism failed, causing the arm to fall out. I did a quick repair in a Croatian car park with a piece of...

My suggestion may not fall into the cheap category either as Owatrol is fairly expensive but cheaper than stainless parts! Its also one of those things that once you have a can of it you find all sorts of other things to paint with it. My old...

I appreciate you pointing out what I was wondering about. I think the leak is only coming from the Y-joint. When I checked it by hand, there didn't seem to be any problems with the hoses for now.
