Even weirder that it applies the brakes a fair amount in that dead-space, but I think the MOT guy will be happy enough compared to last time  You can adjust the pushrod on the pedal to the master, I've adjusted it a bit, but it is...

Glad you got it sorted, well almost. The dead space ought to be down to pistons moving through empty space until the pads contact the discs, and/or the shoes contact the drums. If calipers are properly built I cannot see how that can happen as...

Coming back to this with some good news finally! We managed to take it for a drive on... private road 🤫 None the less I can safely say while there is that 10-15% dead-space at the beginning the brakes still work in that range maybe it's just...

I hope she is lucky enough to be able to do this successfully. I have an aluminium bonnet on a car that got severely pooped on and no amount of treatment, even repainting, lasted. Bird poop and birds eggs can be awful things to get on a car. Bird...

Try wet sanding- 3000 grit, then good polish something like Scholl s3 gold, that will remove the sanding marks and bring the panel up. When I got my 4.2 the previous owners house was surrounded by trees and he obviously didn’t do the roof much...

I've got a leak from the last metal pipe just as it enters the sender, it broke off easy when I touched it. The nut and olive arrangement is rubbish as is the metal pipe with the bend that goes to plastic upstream. I've ordered a new sender...

Er's a 1989. Advance until it pinks and then back it off 'a bit' is a novel idea to me. My rough and ready approach before I got a light was to twist the dizzy back and forth to establish where the engine was struggling in both directions, then...

Ok this might sound a bit silly to some but here we go anyway. I would like to stop the new steel wheel nuts and extended studs rusting, what can I spray on them to help keep the orange stuff at bay. I am hoping someone will say WD40 dry PTFE...

Brilliant stuff, should be the same process for the D1 so I’ll run through that and see if I have any luck tested pin 39 from ignition. At ignition II showing 9.6 volts. Am I assuming right that it would need 12v to activate the relay?

I found a replacement bumper made a noticeable improvement. The old bumper on mine was a painted black one with rust showing through. I fitted a galvanised one, used but I good condition. I see yours is galvanised but looks tired. It might be...

I won't touch them any more. I was at MM4x4 a couple of months ago for something. Dave brought it out in a blue box and i politely asked him to take it away and bring one back in a more expensive box! I finally learned my lesson after having a...
