Now we are getting somewhere. Real issues without the "I know everything" attitude. The lockup occurs at around 50 mph and will obviously be affected by RPM and throttle. But a car with a trailer will have the same RPM but a higher throttle...

A while back I posted a question about what 2-pack body adhesives folks were using. Someone suggested Optima from Ebay so I sourced one. Yesterday I broke the seal and started bonding in various patches and repair strips. Its quite a thick...

Here is the funny thing, the biggest actual potential problem that I have so far been alerted to is the torque converter lockup. Here is what the ZF5HP guru RRPhil said on another forum: "Some aspects of the driveline control are vehicle speed...

When you have refilled it in the past what method have you used? Refill engine off? Refill, then top up with engine running🤔👍

You need to pull that sill cover off and move the carpet cause I bet that’s a lot bigger than you think!!! Also that’s caused from water getting between the metal sheets in the wheel arch and seeping into the body as it’s only spot welded.

I’m also just going to throw it out there that the D2 body may be better than the D1’s but it’s by no means except, I know from experience first hand. So you either get a Jap import body which would be immaculate but then what’s the point in...

This is a post-repair write up as a pay forward. The Freelander 2 steering rack is a Ford product that has a weakness in a Teflon seal that wears out, whereupon the O-ring pops out and the piston stops working. Because of this weakness, a power...

I agree with the others here that bulkhead is ok. Most of it will be spot welds and most folk even a novice can spot weld. Preparation is key, spend the money on welding clamps, angle magnets and give it a go. If you can competently break down a...

It's quite a few hours work. Anyone good will be charging £30+ per hour, so it could be pricey. If I was doing it: I'd start by getting it blasted, identify what's really bad. Unpick the spot welds. Day? Jig it up, then weld. Day? Blast...
