Sure you've bought a Fairly overdrive and not a centre pto. The centre pto has the operating lever coming out of the seat box. Never seen a Fairy overdrive linkage anywhere else other than exiting from the trans tunnel. Post a pic of the linkage...

GEMS is rolling code. Not convinced the Thor is but never played with one. I also don't know if it just sends the code to start or whether it continually sends it. Both strategies were used on the diesel depending on the year.
