I've managed to hurt my Knee pretty good, this has brought progress on all fronts down to a crawl, however I have managed to get the brackets for changing the transfer box finished. I'll have to do this on the floor, but it is a nice smooth, dry...

Insurance costs are mental for young drivers, the young lad at work was quoted 10k for a fiesta. Have you added a black box as this brings it down a fair bit. (he wont want one fitted lol)

Note Cruise control won't work with the O/D you need to fit a speedo healer.

Is the a/c compressor running? not the belt spinning but the centre of the a/c pulley spinning. Most a/c is pretty simple, pressure switch sees pressure and allows the relay to send power to the a/c compressor, so a quick test would be to see if...

"Ideally looking for legal routes" What other sort of routes would you be looking for, illegal ones?

Luck of the draw I guess. The first bushes we fitted were Britpart poly bushes to the panard rod, failed in less than a week. Replaced with Britpart OEM and have been good since.

Sounds mad for me but I do have blue bag panard poly bushes on mine. Could not get any others at the time. Do have super flex for for other bushes.

Yes, don't tell them anything except know mods which you need to declare. My son's was £2.5k for a Ninety with a 200tdi conversion, mind you that was 10 years ago. Still agree £11k seems rather high.

They are the correct bolts but failing that I'll have some spares kicking around somewhere. ill go have a look just now for some decent bushes, I'm not bothered about whether or not they're poly but hopefully there's a bit less to go wrong with...

I have used Britpart oem with no problem. Since you have now learned a valuable lesson you would do well to replace your other aftermarket with oem. You can buy a kit for not a great deal of money.

Try Youtube sure there's a couple of videos

If you fit polybushes then buy good ones, cheaper ones are crap. Not all bolts are the same, some are metric some are not.
  • the_wolf
They were aftermarket. After the first ones failed I went back to the seller and he sent me what to took to be some decent aftermarket ones. Clearly not. I either go for oem metalastic bushes or poly
  • A
That's a problem for sure. Do them up as tight as possible and see what happens. What bushes did you fit, random aftermarket, oem or genuine?
  • the_wolf
The bolts are correct panhard rod bolts but even tightening it up to 110nm made no difference. It was already ft as they were only supposed to be 88nm. I took the rod off and there's a tiny bit of slack when the bolt goes through the bottom bush...

Did you tell the insurance bods that you had fitted new brakes, suspension, chassis etc ? If so, try again without saying anything about new parts you have fitted.... it's a "standard" Landrover 90 Defender.
  • H
That’s a lot of play. Really tighten them bolts first. You can’t over tighten them as the metal center won’t allow this. If the above fails…. Take off panard rod off and check mounting holes. Check bolts are the correct size for the bushes. If...

Holy necro thread! Does anyone actually know where the power for C594 is drawn from? is it a direct connection to the battery? I want to hoover ~15A peak out of it to power a VHF radio but I don't want to melt the wiring or blow something up. I...

Hi there, I’m looking for some good green lanes or BOATs around the [Liverpool/North West] area for some off-road fun in my 4x4. Ideally looking for legal routes with a mix of scenery and a bit of challenge — nothing too extreme. If you’ve...
