Hi all, Anyone close by me with software to clear my Traction Failure? I had put disco 2 hubs on but the sensors threw up an ABS and traction Failure. I've reverted to the proper P38 hubs and the ABD failure has cleared but I'm left with the...

    aaronparke1 replied to the thread P38A Disco 2 hubs on a P38.
They do work, they fit just as the P38 hubs it is just the sensory issue. The old hubs were knackered so it wasn't an option to just replace the bearings, the reluctor rings were rusted through. I have P38 hubs and fitted them. Now no ABD fault...

Is anyone able to suggest anything more on this before i drive it into a wall - literally and figuratively. I've now replaced the steering damper and the rattle through the steering, which was getting much better and although hardly noticeable...

Cheers mate! Yes i was going to get the antiburst type. Still not sure why there'd be an issue with fitting the handle in place of the current one. I'll think i'll just buy on and see how i get on fitting it... All best

Don't fit series 3 latches, fit the anti burst type lift up handle latches used on military doors/later series. You'll obviously need to buy strikers too but they'll fit fine.

Lemforder are a good maker of parts, MeyleHD, then Delphi in my humble opinion.

You can do named drivers BUT if the youngster is the MAIN driver then he can't be a NAMED driver, if that makes sense. They got wise to that years ago.

Thanks. Can’t comment on the brake disk, but it’s got brand new tyres on it.

Worn/ damaged brake disc, or tyre out of round, both of which your mechanic should have seen when changing the hub bearing

I certainly wouldn’t apply the EBP when driving, only when stationary on my vehicle. Did you follow the workshop manual to the letter, Ive had a quick read of cars manual although theres a bit on safety and it looked straight forward, but I...

You would need to find what data the Nanocom sends to GEMS for learn mode, plus the data format the BECM sends during starting. The GEMS will be some kind of LR specific command code via the OBD protocol. I suspect the BECM enable signal uses...

Ok my information was based your thread title D1 immobiliser, and theres nothing to turn on other than the ignition switch to start the engine. It’s the same for a D2 also. It’s the D2 that has known issues with the receiver above the headlining...

Can't do that, as a youngster it will need to be insured in his name as the main driver. My son was 17 when he insured his Ninety through AF. I doubt A-plan will insure, I'm in my 50s and they don't qoute me a sensible price. AF are probably...

Yes powered up & then the normal BECM start action. Doesn't matter if the engine actually runs, just for GEMS to learn the code. I read somewhere that Morgan V8 GEMS was programmed with the same code so it didn't require a BCM of any sort. . ...

Hi, just after some ideas as we seem to be out of them! Please bear in mind, I’m not a car person, in any way, so please explain anything like I’m an idiot!! My 2008 Freelander 2 has a rumbling/grinding noise that seems to come from FOS wheel...

Never tried it, but in theory you could do it with a Nanocom (although Nanocom might not allow FFFF). 1. In BECM menus write FFFF into the Immobilisation code. 2. In GEMS Utility menu put GEMS into Learn Mode. 3. Turn ignition off-on to trigger...

Hi everyone. I bought an MOT failed Defender 90 a year or so back (H reg - 1991 - 200TDI) that my 17 yr old son and I have just "re-chassied" (new brakes, suspension, chassis etc) and it should be on the road by the end of the month. I've rung up...
